Funeral services for, former Lawton resident, Roslyn Lanette (Jeffries) Roberson, 40, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 Greater Galilee Baptist Church with Rev. Clantford L. Drummond, officiating.
Ms. Roberson passed away July 14, 2010 in Lanham, Maryland.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Roslyn was born on September 26, 1969 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Roy L. and Eula L. (Nichols) Jeffries. She attended Will Rogers Elementary, Central Junior High School and Lawton High School, graduating in 1987. She attended Cameron University graduating in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems and also received an Associated of Applied Science in Data Processing and Applied Science Management Information Systems. On June 27, 1998 she married Marcus Roberson in Fort Worth, Texas. They later divorced. She became a member of Greater Galilee Baptist Church at an early age. She was a member of the Youth Department and sung in the Youth and Mass Choir. Roslyn attended Evangel Cathedral, Upper Marlboro, Maryland and later attended Tree of Life Christian Ministries, Clinton, Maryland. After graduation from college her professional career began at Fort Sill, OK where she worked as a Systems Analyst / Database Administrator. She also worked for Intervoice-Brite, Inc. Dallas, TX as a Senior Application Engineer/Project Manager. She also worked for AMTRAK, National Passanger Railroad Corp, and Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean, Virginia as an Associate Consultant. Roslyn was a Certified Master Trainer for all 350 Bally's Total Fitness Centers. She was one of many to receive special recognition at the 13th National Woman of Color STEM Conference for being a top ALL STAR performer for her leadership abilities, project achievements and concern for her community.
Roslyn leaves to celebrate her life with precious memories: her mother, Eula L. Jeffries, Lawton, Ok; her father, Roy L. Jeffries, Clarksville, TN; sisters, Yolanda L. Nichols, Lawton ,OK, Tamara Jeffries, Clarksville, TN and Tara Scott, San Francisco, CA; her brother, Victor Keith Jeffries and his wife Myrtle; niece, Brishara Broomfield; nephew, Avontae Broomfield; her special friend and companion, Antonio Dearing, of Washington, DC; her best friend, Miguel Sylvester, of Huntingtown, Maryland; and many family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Cozetta Nichols and Russell Nichols.
Special visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday, July 23 at Lawton Ritter Funeral Home Chapel.
