Funeral service for Kurt Wilkins Arnold, 58, of Walters, Oklahoma, will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Hulen United Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Mills, pastor, officiating, Rev. David Jones, pastor of New Light United Methodist Church and Rev. Dan Eppler, associate pastor of Hulen United Methodist Church, assisting.

Kurt died on Friday, September 12, 2008, in Lawton.

Service is under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

He was born on April 27, 1950, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Bufford Leo and Lois Ruth (Wilkins) Arnold. He attended schools in Walters. He was a member of 4H and FFA for many years. He won several reserve and grand champion steer awards in Cotton and Comanche County as well as the Tulsa and Oklahoma State Fairs. He traveled to Europe and Washington, DC with 4H and FFA. He was a heavy equipment operator and farmed and ranched for many years. Kurt was a member of the Hulen Volunteer Fire Department and served as chief for many years, as well as volunteering for many of the fire departments in Comanche County. He was a member of the Hulen United Methodist Church.

He was an avid quail hunter and enjoyed hunting with his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Kristy Lee and Ronnie Mullen of Walters, Oklahoma; two sons and daughter in law, Thomas Roy Arnold of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Kevin Blair and LaDonna Arnold of Thomas, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Kristopher, Kasey, and Kourtney Mullen of Walters, Oklahoma, Tyler and Kylie Arnold of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Brooklyn, Shawn, Joseph, Isabella, and Kaleb Arnold, all of Thomas, Oklahoma; a step son, Cody Ketchum of Duncan, Oklahoma; and special friends, Mike and Tonya Sanders, H.D. Woodall, Byron Caldwell, Clentis Elliff, and Homer and Billie Barnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at the funeral home.
