Arnold Thomas Bonner

Word has been received of the death of Arnold Thomas Bonner, 80 of Medicine Park, Oklahoma.

Mr. Bonner died at 11:34 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at his home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Services are planned for a later date.

Arnold was born on October 10, 1929 in Morgan City, Louisiana to Emory Leonard and Sardeina (Hebert) Bonner. He grew up in Louisiana where he worked for the family's bakery business. He joined the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was assigned to various aircraft carriers. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor where he met Joycelyn Min. They married on April 10, 1951 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After his honorable discharge from the military in September of 1952, he worked as a union representative for the Bakers and Confectionary Union for many years, living in Hawaii, California, and Corpus Christi, Texas, He retired in 1979 and he and Joycelyn moved to Medicine Park, Oklahoma in 2006.

He is survived by his wife, Joycelyn, of the home; two sons, Kenny T. Bonner and Isabel, of Medicine Park, Oklahoma and Vint A. Bonner of California; two daughters, Sue Johnson, of California and Joye LaBarett, of Texas; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 11 siblings.
