Word has been received of the death of Anna Battista, 79, of Lawton. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Hollywood, Florida.

Anna died on September 5, 2008 in Lawton.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

She was born on October 22, 1928 in Reykjavik, Iceland to Arni Sigurjonsson and Sveinlavg Torsteinsdottir.

She is survived by her husband of the home Rocco Battista; her sons, Baldur B. LaVoque and his wife Koviljka of Lawton, and Thorstien LaVoque and his wife Helga, of Hollywood, Florida; her sisters Unner Arnadottir of Reykjavik, Iceland, Magga Arnadottir of Reykjavik, Iceland, and Lauga Karlsdottir of Hafnanjodur, Iceland; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
