Gerald Wayne Asbery, 39, of Grandfield, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in Grandfield, Oklahoma.
Services will be Friday, December 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Grandfield, with Rev. Ronnie Morgan, Youth Minister of the First Baptist Church, Grandfield, officiating.
Gerald was born August 23, 1968 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to David Baxter and Marian G. Greenway Asbery. He attended Grandfield Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1986. He played football all four years, 1983 until 1986. He married DeAnna Kay Whaley on January 1, 1995, in Holiday, Texas. He was a member of the Grandfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Grandfield Ambulance. Gerald was working to become an EMT and was within five hours of completion at Great Plains Vo-Tech in Lawton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, since childhood.
Survivors include his wife of the home; his parents; maternal grandmother, Lillian Greenway of Burkburnett; two daughters Alyssa and Sammantha all of Grandfield; one brother, Jeff and wife Michelle of Grandfield; one sister, Lori Moore and husband Shannon, of Burkburnett; nieces and nephews, Paige; Tyson; Chelsea, Matthew; Connor and Justin.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Sam and Lona Peterson; Jack Asbery and maternal grandfather, Marion Carlton Greenway.
