Funeral service for Albert Henry McKenzie Sr., 82, Lawton, Oklahoma, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Spurlock, officiating.

Mr. McKenzie died on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He was born on September 15, 1926, in Lawton, to Henry Louis and Rosa Lee Downs McKenzie. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School. He joined the United States Army/Air Force in 1944 and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in January of 1949. He married Wynell "Puddin" Ketchum on August 13, 1949, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a firefighter and served on the Lawton Fire Department for 28 years. He was a member of the Lawton Retired Firefighters Association, the Veterans Association and served as a reserve sheriff deputy for Comanche County. He was a member of the Liberty Heights Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Puddin of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Albert and Teresa McKenzie, Mike and Pam McKenzie, and Pat McKenzie, all of Lawton, Oklahoma; a daughter and son-in-law, Juana and MAJ. Dennis Small of Brandenburg, Kentucky; four grandchildren and their spouses, Shang and Denise McKenzie, Chris and Jennifer McKenzie, Amanda and Steven Camacho, and Brian and Jennifer Johnson; six great grandchildren, Abbie, Jakob, Kersten, Casen, Eden, and Brianne; and a sister, Ethel Rouse Carver of Spotsylvania, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lester and Ernest McKenzie and a sister, Lillian Fernandez.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the McKenzie home, 8819 NW 4 Mile, Lawton, Oklahoma.
