Funeral service for Ann M. Barrett, 81, of Lawton will be at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Central Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Miles, pastor, officiating
Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barrett died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Norman, Oklahoma.
She was born on November 14, 1927 in Wishaw, Scotland to Alexander and Elizabeth (Somerville) Dobbie. She graduated from Washington High School in June 1945. She married Harry William "Bill" Barrett on July 3, 1952 in Washington, Pennsylvania and they traveled with the military. They arrived in Lawton in 1959 and she worked as a secretary at Pollard Avenue Baptist Church before beginning work with civil service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She also worked part time as the assistant bookkeeper at Fort Sill Thrift Shop. Mr. Barrett died on September 21, 2008. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived his two sons, and a daughter in law, Richard and Bunni Barrett, of Newalla, Oklahoma and Scott Barrett, of Elgin, Oklahoma; her daughter and son in law, Nanette and Randy Belicek, of Purcell, Oklahoma; her sister and brother in law, Bette and Ed Cahill, of Troy, Ohio; her brother and sister in law, Thomas and Judy Dobbie, of Poughkeepsie, New York; and four grandchildren, Erin Nasca, Dustin Barrett, Kristin Belicek, and Kelsey Belicek.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
