Funeral service for Harold LeRoy Berfiend, 73, Cyril, will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Cyril, Oklahoma with Rev. Charles Echols, pastor, officiating.

Mr. Berfiend died Friday, September 18th, 2009, in Lawton.

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

A special visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Harold LeRoy Berfiend was born July 5, 1936 in Rapid City, South Dakota to Lawrence Jeffrey and Ella Florence Berfiend. He married Nancy Lea Gibson on June 12, 1960. He worked in the grocery store business all of his life, and in 1989 bought Cyril Food Store and had it nearly 20 years until it closed in June 2008.

Harold was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cyril, Men's Sunday School Class, and Men's Breakfast Group. He also served 9 years in the National Guard.

Harold is survived by his wife Nancy, of the home; one son, Harold Lawrence Berfiend, of Indianapolis, IN; two daughters, Patty Kay and Gary L. Rainey, Jr., of Lawton, OK; and Brenda Lea and Brian Penny, of Mustang, OK; seven grandchildren, Zachary and Madalyn Berfiend, Logan, Colton, and Tanner Rainey, and Jordan and Greg Penny; and two sisters, Judy and Bill Cobb, of Rapid City, SD, and Florence Lee, of Sparks, NV.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents.
