VAN DILEE BERRY
Van Dilee "Vanda" Berry, 96, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away June 5, 2009, at Hospice of Wichita Falls, surrounded by loving family members and caregivers.
Graveside services were conducted June 11, 2009, in Melvin, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at the Beverly Drive United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, on June 18, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Linda Marcum, officiating.
Services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, Oklahoma.
Vanda was born June 13, 1912, in Brady, Texas, to Dan Webster and Callie Belle Van Winkle Westbrook. She spent her childhood in Melvin, Texas, and San Angelo, Texas, and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1950. Vanda worked as an instructor in Statistical Programming at Sheppard Air Force Base until her retirement in 1965. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the National Association of Retired Civil Service Employees. Vanda played the piano for pleasure and professionally, and played for her beloved church and at Faith Mission for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Lorraine Westbrook, and a daughter Van Rae (Penny) Guthrie.
Survivors include her devoted son Dan A. and wife "Delo" Berry; seven grandchildren, Kay Kuhn, Ricky Ward, Contessa Goodman, Bob Berry, Dana Holub, Lanna Berry, Julie Rasmuson; six great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. A special note of thanks to three very special friends of Vanna's, Diana, Sherry and Mary.
