Funeral for Margaret "Peggy" (Wilder) Aust, 88, of Lawton, OK will be 11:00 a.m. on February 19, 2009 at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. William F. Todd, pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Aust died on Sunday, February 15th, 2009, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Margaret "Peggy" Wilder Aust was born on January 21, 1921 in Harlan, Kentucky to Lora and Thelma (Howard) Wilder. She graduated from Harlan High School in 1938 and received her bachelors degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky in 1942. She taught school for three years at Harlan Elementary School. She married Ernest E. Aust, Jr. in Harlan, Kentucky on February 26, 1946. They came to Lawton and she taught at Whittier Elementary School for 12 years. Mr. Aust died on February 6, 2005. Mrs. Aust was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church and was a member of the Centenary Methodist Church Crusaders Sunday School Class, served as treasurer of United Methodist Women's Group, and was a charter member of Junior Service League.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carolyn and John Hardeman, of Norman, OK; her son and daughter in law, Ernest "Ed' Aust III and Becky of Edmond; five granddaughters, Sunny Schreiner and her husband, Dustin, of Bozeman, Montana, Lacey Hardeman, of Norman, Taylor Hardeman, of Norman, Emily Aust, of Edmond, and Caitlin Aust, of Edmond; her nieces and nephews, including Steve Aust, of Lawton, Donna Littlefield, of Lawton, and William Cole, of Duncan; her brother in law, John D. Aust and his wife, Jeannine, of Lawton; her uncle, H.F. Howard, of Harlan, Kentucky; and numerous cousins including, H.F. "Freddie" Howard, Margaret Yost, and Marilyn Kirking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest and her brother, Warren Wilder.
