Funeral service for Versa Anderson, 87, of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with preacher David Bonner of Gore Boulevard Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Anderson died on Thursday, August 20, 2009 in Lawton.

Versa was born on June 13, 1922 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Richard R. and Effie Alice (Trett) Ray. She attended elementary school in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and came to Lawton as a small child. She married Macy William Anderson on August 24, 1941 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Mr. Anderson died on June 1, 1998. She worked in the cafeteria at Eisenhower Elementary School and then worked as the Cafeteria Manager at Roosevelt Elementary School until retiring after 24 years of service. She was a member of the Gore Boulevard Christ of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Sharon and Frank Berndt, of Lawton, Oklahoma and Patricia and Manuel Lehew, of Lawton, Oklahoma; her sister, Pearl Dorrell, of Lawton; two grandsons, Rick Clanton and his wife, Holly, of Menonomee Falls, Wisconsin and Christopher Kinsfather, and his wife, Malinda Rust, of Lawton; two great grandchildren Braedon Clanton and Macy Clanton, both of Menonomee Falls, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Macy William Anderson; one sister, Myrtle Wiles; and four brothers, Tom Ray, R.L. Ray, Calvin Ray and Clyde Ray.
