Funeral service for Opal L. Armstrong, of Lawton, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2009 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Al Potts, pastor, of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Armstrong died on Thursday, May 14th, 2009, in Lawton.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

She was born to Jack and Mary Saunders Kelly on a farm outside of Sterling, Oklahoma and graduated from Sterling High School. She worked as a beautician before she met and married James Clifford Armstrong in April 1941 and became a full time devoted wife and homemaker. CSM (Ret.) James C. Armstrong preceded her in death in 1969. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Armstrong of Dallas, Texas, and her son, Jim Armstrong, of Lawton, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
