Funeral service for Mary Magdalene Bean, 82, Lawton, will be 8:30 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2009 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lawton, with Bishop Clyde Page, officiating.
Mrs. Bean died Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009, in Lawton.
Graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Forest Hill Cemetery near Idabel, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mary Magdalene Bean was born November 17, 1926 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to John Wesley Mulkey and Sarah Janie Corban Mulkey. She was the 9th. of 10 children born to John and Sarah Mulkey. Mary grew up in Broken Bow and attended school where she was an excellent basketball player. She married Toy Lee Bean on January 2, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1972. She was a homemaker for many years and raised four children. She worked at the Fort Sill AAFES - snack bar as a manager for 15 years. She was a devoted member of the LDS Church in Lawton where she previously taught children's primary and Sunday school classes.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Wanda Blalock of Liberty, Mississippi, Patricia Graves of Lawton, OK; and Peggy Ingram and husband, Clayton, of Hesperia, California; one son, David Bean and wife, Susan, of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Herman Mulkey and wife, Ruby Nell, of Washington; one sister, Ilene Sanchez, of California; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and a sister in law, Lucille Mulkey of Lawton, OK.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son in law, Jerry Blalock, and seven siblings, Alma, Lola, Bertha, Lester, Irene, Joseph, and Alice Jean.
