Funeral service for Lisa Reiko Wooten, 82 of Geronimo, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Charles Leggett of Faith Hospice officiating.
Mrs. Wooten passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Geronimo.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lisa was born on November 15, 1931 in Miyazaki, Japan to Torazo and Kesao (Miyata) Matsuo . She grew up in Japan where she attended school and worked as a seamstress. She married Thomas L. Wooten on October 15, 1957 in Yokohoma, Japan and she traveled with him throughout his military career. They moved to Geronimo after his retirement and she was a homemaker. She worked as a cook at the several dining facilities on Post for 18 years until her retirement and then worked part time as a stocker at the Fort Sill Commissary. She loved to sew, quilt and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, of the home; five daughters and sons in law, Judy and James Halstead, Diana and Allen Tinker, Kathy Wooten, and Jane Wooten, all of Lawton and Carolyn Wooten and her partner, Joe Hughes, of Geronimo; two brothers, Hiroshi Matsuo and Yoshio Matsuo, both of Japan; one sister, Kikuko Kokuba, of Japan; several nieces and nephews, all of Japan; four grandchildren, Naomi Donnelly and Robert Fogel, of Lawton, Brandi Donnelly and Juan Salazar, of Jacksboro, Texas, Shannon Halstead, of Lawton and Andrea Halstead, of Lawton; and six great grandchildren, Colin, Jason, Hayden, Ava, Taylor and Austin;
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
The family would like to thank Faith Hospice for the care she received.
