Funeral service for Oretta Hamblin, 93 of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Kerry Malakosky, pastor of Liberty Heights Church officiating.
Mrs. Hamblin passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at her home in Lawton.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Oretta was born on April 22, 1920 in rural Shiloh School District southwest of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, to Claud and Macy (Goff) Ussrey. She grew up in Sallisaw and graduated from high school in 1937. She came to Lawton and married O.B. Hamblin. Mr. Hamblin passed away on December 26, 1991. Oretta worked as a cashier for Humpty Dumpty at 3rd and "I" Ave. and was the first female cashier for the Commissary on Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She later worked at the PX and also at the McNair Hall Coffee Shop on Post. She enjoyed traveling, reading, working puzzles, and spending time with her many grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Rollins, of Grandfield, OK; her brother, Jerry Ussrey, of Claremore, OK; her sister, Jane Hutting, of Lawton, OK; two grandchildren and their spouses, Rhonda and Brad Clemmer, of Cache, OK and Robert and Brittney Rollins, of Grandfield, OK; five grandchildren, Clint Rollins and his wife, Christa, Kailen Clemmer, Kinsey Clemmer, Kaden Clemmer, and Jordan Rollins; three great great grandchildren, Cutler Rollins, Cayson Rollins and Creeden Rollins; her nieces and nephews, Tony and Kumiko Snodgrass, Leslie and Harry Layton and Linda and Robert Howard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claud and Macy Ussrey; her husband, O.B. Hamblin; and her brother, Claud Ussrey, Jr.
