Betty Jean Raulston

Funeral service for Betty Jean Raulston, 92 of Lawton, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Central Baptist Church of Lawton, with Brad Allen officiating. 

Mrs. Raulston passed away on December 2, 2017 at McMahon Tomlinson Nursing Home. 

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery.

A special visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel.

Betty was born on March 8, 1925 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Gene and Ida Greer. She grew up in Mangum where she graduated and met the love of her life, Jack E. Raulston. After they were married they moved to Visalia, California where she was a piano teacher. They moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1954 and opened Raulston Furniture, where she was the vice president and secretary. 

Betty enjoyed going to work but most of all spending time with family, as a parent and grandparent. Betty attended Central Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for the "College and Career" class for many years. She started the American Diabetes Association in 1971 in Lawton. She was also a member of Public Education of Oklahoma, Opera Guild, Lawton Philharmonic, Retail Merchants Association, Oklahoma State Textbook Committee, the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, and the Lawton Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri and husband Toby Hill of Snyder; son, Tommy and wife Jane Raulston of Laramie, Wyoming; two granddaughters, Megan and husband, Richard Adamson, Jr. of Moore, Oklahoma, and Tabitha Raulston of Laramie, Wyoming; her siblings, Martha and husband Jack Catherwood, of Jackson, Mississippi, and Susie Lamie, of South Elgin, Illinois; sister-in-law, Billye Greer, of Mangum, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Ida Greer; infant daughter, Beverly Jane; her brother, Bill Greer; and great granddaughter, Prestyn Reese Adamson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
