Billy Charles Cummings

Funeral service for Billy Charles Cummings, 82, of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Carter, pastor of Wichita Baptist Church, Cache, Oklahoma officiating.

Mr. Cummings passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Billy was born on January 19, 1935 in Lawton, Oklahoma to John F. and Ethel Mae Florence (Morgan) Cummings. He grew up in Lawton where he attended school. He worked for a while as a sanitation worker and later at 7-Up Bottling Company. He then began working at Orkin Exterminator Company and worked for over 20 years until his retirement. Billy also served in the National Guard. He married Linda Sue Smith on July 14, 1988 in Burkburnett, Texas. She passed away on October 16, 2007. Billy enjoyed reading westerns and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He always lit up when they came to visit. He was a 32 Degree Mason.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter in law, Phillip and Debbie Cummings, of Cache, OK, Charlie Cummings, of Lawton and Paul Saunders, of Lawton; four daughters and sons in law, Gay Lynn and Jay Easter, of North Carolina, Rita and Frank Nobles, of Lawton, Natasha and Anthony Perez, of Lawton and Tracy Saunders and Rob Kiesecker, of Oklahoma City; his brother and sister in law, James and Misty Cummings, of Lawton; two sisters, Helen Drennen, of Walters, OK and Silver Neil Fischer, of Houston, TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Cummings; two daughters, Janie Weir and Berdia Saunders; his son, Gary Wayne Cummings; his sister, Goldie (Sissy) Beeson; and two brothers, Carl Cummings and Robert Cummings.
