Funeral service for Clement "Clem" Paul McClurkan, 74, of Krum, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Central Church of Christ, 908 Kramer Road, Burkburnett, Texas with Mark Dillman and Jim Antwine officiating. 

Mr. McClurkan passed away on Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. 

Burial will be at Grandfield Memorial Cemetery, Grandfield, Oklahoma under the direction of Gray
Funeral Home. 

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.   

Clem was born on October 5, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas to Samuel Christopher and Mary John (Jordan) McClurkan. The family lived briefly in Burburnett, Texas before moving to Devol, Oklahoma where he attended school through the 6th grade. The family then moved to Grandfield, Oklahoma  and Clem graduated from Grandfield High School in 1960. He then attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma for two years. He married Frankie Crossland on August 21, 1963 in Grandfield, Oklahoma where they lived until the middle of 1964 when they moved to Irving, Texas. Clem worked as a manager of a shoe store in Grand Priarie, Texas for two years. In 1966, they returned to Grandfield, Oklahoma and Clem worked at Baker's Shoe Store in Wichita Falls, Texas and later for worked for FEX. He then begin working for Sears in Wichita Falls  and later transferred to the Fort Worth store. He worked at Sears for over 30 years until his retirement. In all of those years, Clem never had a sick day. The family then moved to Killeen, Texas until March of 2011 when they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. On October 31, 2011, Clem had a lung transplant and they later moved to Krum, Texas which was close to his medical team. Clem was a mason and he attended the Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He enjoyed caring for his yard and garden. When his sons were young, Clem coached his boy's baseball team and also coached girls softball.    

He is survived by his wife, Frankie McClurkan, of the home; his son, Paul McClurkan, of Krum, Texas; two brothers and sisters in law, Chris and Sammie McClurkan, of Grandfield, OK and Danny and Clara McClurkan, of Irving, TX; two sisters and brothers in law, Eme and Rick Parades, of Winnsboro, TX and Halley and Mark Dillman, of Crestview, FL; two grandchildren, Meredith Marie McClurkan, of Frederick, CO and Tony McClurkan of Gunnison, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews including a special great niece and caregiver, Robin Amos; and his transplant coordinator and nurse, Marcie Buford.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, John Mark McClurkan.
