Collene Inez Hunt

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Collene Hunt passed in her sleep after a short illness on Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 in Lawton. 

She was born on October 23, 1930 south of Indiahoma, Oklahoma to Lloyd and Inez (Grantham) McLinn. She grew up in the area where she attended school. She earned her Nursing Degree from St. Anthonys and worked for Dr. Walter Wicker for 26 years and later worked for Treasure Lake Job Corp before retiring. She married Harold Nolan Hunt on August 23, 1952 in Raton, New Mexico and they lived for a short period in Stillwater, Oklahoma before returning to Indiahoma in the mid 50's. Collene also worked many summers at Camp C'Andy as Nursie. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, fishing and people watching. She will be greatly missed. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Hunt and partner, Debra Dotson, of Lawton, OK; her son, Trent Hunt and wife, Valerie, of Lehi, UT; her twin sister, Colleta Stoll, of Indiahoma, OK; her brother, Kenneth McLinn, of Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Steven Roberts, Chalyse Roberts, McKenzi Hunt, Alexis Hunt, and Kylee Hunt; and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Patsy Stoll; her sister in law, Yovene Kreuger, of Altus, OK; and many cousins including a special cousin, Rubena Wright.   

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step mother, Bonnie; her  husband of 63 years, Harold Hunt; her brothers and sisters in law, Delmar and Hazel McLinn, and Garry and Juanita McLinn, her sister and brother in law, Deronda and Leon Null, sister in law, Joann McLinn; and brother in law, Roy Stoll. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Indiahoma United Methodist Church with Daryl Perry officiating assisted by Rev. Les Bussell. 

Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, south of Indiahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Brentwood Senior Assisted Living Center for the great care shown to our mother.
