Hearts Love 35

Debra Kay (Holden) Fletcher

May 25, 1952 ~ April 8, 2024 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Tribute

Debra Kay Fletcher, 72, gained her wings on April 8, 2024-like a beautiful butterfly she flew on to be at peace. She was born in Kermit, Texas on May 25, 1952 to Hollis and Edith Holden.

Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Cache Cemetery.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Debbie married Freddy Fletcher on May 24, 1972 in Electra, Texas. The couple had not long ago celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Freddy would be quick to tell you it was "love at first sight." In their union, they had one son Jonathan, to whom she dedicated her life's work and loved with all she had to give.

Debbie was an incredible wife, mother, and homemaker; often cooking for the masses of drivers, family, and friends. She held a few jobs outside the home prior to her and Freddy starting their trucking business, F & D Trucking in 1989. F & D Trucking officially merged with Flutters Trucking, Inc. in 2017 and ownership was transferred to their son, Jonathan. Debbie was unarguably the backbone and heartbeat of the businesses until her health would no longer permit it.

Debbie's spirit is carried on by those she loved so beautifully: her husband, Freddy Fletcher, of the home; her son, Jonathan Fletcher, also of the home and her grandson, Chayse Fletcher; in addition, her sister in law, Debra Chandler and husband, Cecil; and her brother in law, Mac McNight. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, sister in law, Gayla Harper; special friends Marinda Green and Trudy Diamond, and many special friends from the APA Pool Association.

As Mamaw, she had her heart full of love for Chayse. He was truly the apple of her eye and brought her so much joy. Most especially during the holidays-like every good Mamaw she spoiled him rotten.

Those that left her journey too soon and welcomed her: her parents, Hollis and Edith Holden; her sister, Pat; in laws, David Edward and Margaret Marie Fletcher; brother in laws, Clarence Brinkley and David Fletcher, Jr. As well as her sister in law, Barbara McNight.

Thank you to each of you for being part of her journey. May remembrance of her qualities and her friendship soften your sadness and cherished memories bring you comfort and surround your grieving hearts.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Leah M. Fitch Cancer Center.
