Harold Lynn Smith

Funeral service for Harold Lynn Smith, 59, of Elgin, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Donny Crittendon, pastor of First Baptist Church, Cyril, Oklahoma and Rev. Ordean Nelson, pastor of Paradise Valley Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma officiating.

Mr. Smith passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Harold was born on August 23, 1958 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Harold D. and Sylvia (Morgan) Smith. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School in 1976. He attended Cameron University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering. He worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company for 13 years and later was a supervisor at Western Uniform and Towel where he worked for over 10 years. Harold married Claudia Space on March 15, 1991 in Lawton and they made their home in Elgin, Oklahoma. He was a devoted member, deacon, and Sunday School Teacher of Paradise Valley Baptist Church. He was a member of the Lawton Model Railroad Club and his hobby was trains. He also enjoyed Nascar and woodworking.  

He is survived by his wife, Claudia, of the home; his mother, Sylvia Smith, of Lawton; his brothers in law and sisters in law, Walter Albrecht, Kathy Bell, Todd and Monica Mindemann, and Travis and Kelly Mindemann; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; and his beloved dogs, Brandy and Jack. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Harold D. Smith; his grandparents, Oleta and Gano Morgan and Reddy and Demp Smith; his mother in law and father in law, Elaine and LeRoy Mindemann; his nephew, Michael Bell; and cousins, Larry and Hank.
