James Phillip Householder

Funeral service for James Phillip Householder, 87, of Burkburnett, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Mr. Householder passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Burkburnett, Texas.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

James was born on July 23, 1936 in Akron, Ohio to Carl and Fern (Woods) Householder. He grew up in Akron, graduating from Ellet High School in 1954. He married Donna Lustic and to that union three children, Carl Anthony, Steven Craig, and Karen Lynn were born. He married Phyllis Frost in 1982.  James started his career with Goodyear Tire and Rubber in 1955 in Akron and later transferred to Danville, Virginia and finally came to the Lawton plant, retiring after more than 40 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed his box seats at the Nascar races for over 25 years and was an avid OU fan. He liked walking the trails with his step daughter, Debbie, and was a member of the Goodyear Running Club.  

He is survived by his son, Steven Craig Householder, and wife, Tina; his daughter, Karen Shirey; his step daughter, Debbie Crossland; his grandchildren, Michael Craig Householder, David Anthony Householder, Stephanie Householder, Robert Crossland and wife, Ami; and his great grandchildren, Aubreana Householder, Anthony Crossland, Faith Crossland, Jesse Crossland, Piper Crossland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis Householder who passed away on April 12, 2012; his son, Carl Householder, and his grandson, Bradley Goforth.
