Jessie was born on January 1, 1928 in Gould, Oklahoma to William Berry and Eva Viola (Easter) Brown. He attended Gould and Elmore City schools. Jessie joined the United States Army in 1948 and served his country for 7-1/2 years before leaving the military in 1955, returning to Oklahoma, living in Altus, where he worked for Altus Glass Company. In 1956, Jessie moved his family to Lawton, where he began working for Lawton Glass Company. He then worked for Fowler's Glass Company for 18 years, until he and Cliff Brady joined together to start Brady and Brown Paint, Glass, and Floor Covering in 1975. In 1986, he retired, and he and Juanita became snowbirds, spending their winters in South Texas, fishing and spent their summers mowing lawns with JB Lawn Service. He also enjoyed spending time coyote hunting, horseback riding, trap shooting and walking his grandkids to the store to buy candy.

Jessie accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at the age of 68, which led to a life of serving the church through men's ministries, missions trips, servicing the church van, ushering and being a greeter at Calvary Assembly of God Church. Family was very important to Jessie, and all of that started in 1952, when, after three weeks of dating, he married the love of his life, Miss Juanita Faye Graves on August 2, 1952, and they have celebrated 64 years of marriage which has led to countless hours of time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Brown, of the home; his daughter, Anita Underwood, of Duncan, OK; two sons and daughters in law, Nicky and Iris Brown, of Elgin, OK and Robert and Melissa Brown, of Lawton, OK; two brothers and sisters in law, Ira Robert and Lula Mae Brown, and Billy and Sue Brown, all of Lawton, OK; his sister, Lillie Ellen Gann, of Lawton, OK; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lester, Floyd, Kenneth, and Galvin; three sisters, Eva Nichols, Martha Byrd, and Nellie Pierce; and his son-in-law, Gary Underwood.
