Funeral service for James "Jim" Kitchens, 86, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Craig of The Christian Center, officiating.

Mr. Kitchens passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Lawton. Oklahoma.

Burial will be at Flowermound Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Jim was born on October 11, 1930 in Bethany, Oklahoma and grew up in Apache where he attended school. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Virginia Lee Wilson in June of 1951. Mrs. Kitchens passed away in 2005. Jim worked for a while at Dolese and later worked as a sales manager at many car dealerships including: Frank Kitchens Buick Cadillac, Phillips Aubrey Chevrolet, Milo Gordon, and Cecil Lawson. He also owned and operated Kitchen's Auto Sales. Jim was a proud 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of First Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his son, Gary Kitchens, of Lawton, OK; his daughter and son in law, Sharon and Joe Sullivan, of Lawton, OK; his brother and sister in law, Bill and Paula Kitchens; two sisters, Clydia Gibson and Eva Jo Smith, all of Washington; grandchildren and their spouses, Josh and Courtney Sullivan, Tyler Kitchens, Russell and Caresse Sullivan, Ashley Kitchens, Wesley and Kristen Sullivan, and Klayton Kitchens; 9 great grandchildren, Alexa Taylor- Kitchens, Ashton Taylor-Kitchens, Cora Sullivan, Abbilene Sullivan, Kendyll Sullivan, Jentry Sullivan, Elle Kitchens, Lilly Kitchens and Kylee Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Maude Kitchens; his wife, Virginia; son, Kendall Kitchens; brother, Don Kitchens; and three grandchildren.
