Uncle Jimmy, seeing you this summer brought back a flood of happy childhood memories. May you Rest In Peace and give Sylvia a big hug up there.

Mac, Jackie, and Regina, I wish seeing you was under different circumstances. I will pray for peace for you during this hard time.

Chad and Nicholas, your dad was such a good, happy, fun person. The protective older cousin in me wants to scoop up he two little boys I remember so fondly and protect them from pain. I know I can’t do that now but I will be sending positive thoughts, prayers, and hugs your direction to help through this difficult time of losing your dad.

To all the McConnell family and extended family, my love and prayers to you.

Jackie I'm so sorry you lost your brother. I didn't know him but am sure he was a great guy. Bill and John knew him as Jimmy "Fuzz". Again our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Mac, Jackie and Regina, I am so very sorry. I know how much Jimmy loved you and I know not having him here will be most unbearable. I talked to him right before his birthday and he was looking forward to going out and having dinner with you guys. I can only pray the lifetime of memories and celebrating Jimmy's birthday will sustain you and provide some comfort. My heart absolutely aches for all of you. I know you will miss him immensely, as I will too. May the love Jimmy had for you embrace you and God hold you all in his hand now and always. Peggy

To my Lawton View family, the McConnells and the Rogers,

Jimmy and I were the best of friends and I have thought about him and the sad events and the funny events in our life the last few days. He was one of the kindest and most gentle boys... and men I have ever known. The value of his impact on my life can only be measured by God. But, I can tell you Jimmy made my life far more than it would have ever been with out him.

Running from police in the middle of the night on our bicycles to go see girls on the north side of the tracks, getting body slammed by girls who knew judo just to impress us, getting caught by an angry dad in a tiny house trailer kissing around on his daughters. Then trying sqweeze past that dad in a tiny hallway while Jimmy is yelling "We have got to get out of here Jimmy Don!" And running all the way home.
Working all day long mowing yards to get enough money to buy movie tickets, a coke, pop corn and a bag of Beechnut Chewing Tobbaco just for us to puke our guts out and all that movie food only one block from the house.
In the end, feeling utter guilt for not spending more time with Jimmy in his last days. I will answer to God for that, but for now, I will relive my childhood with the memories of my very best fiend... Jimmy McConnell. For as poor as we were...we were rich! I will miss you Jimmy, thank you for being a fantastic friend!

I wanted to express my sadness for Jimmy's passing. He was a pleasure to know him and take care of his insurance needs. He was a gracious individual.

Nick and Chad, Your Dad was an exceptional man, a great Dad, brother and Friend. My heart is filled with sadness and is heavy for you both and his grandchildren. I know how much he loved his boys and his greatest joy were his grandkids. He always talked about them and how proud he was to become a grandfather. He loved his sisters and brother dearly and he was a loyal friend to me. I know you will never cease missing him, his passing is a great loss. I too will miss him greatly....
Love, Peggy
