Larry Paul Patton

Graveside service for former Chattanooga, Oklahoma resident, Larry Paul Patton, 72, of Arlington, Texas will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Chattanooga Cemetery, Chattanooga, Oklahoma. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home. 

Mr. Patton passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Burleson, Texas after a lengthy illness. 

Larry was born on August 18, 1944 in San Angelo, Texas to Paul and Carmen (Hinds) Patton. He grew up in Chattanooga where he attended school, graduating from Chattanooga High School in 1962.  He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, receiving  a degree in 1967. He then received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1970. He worked as an Estate Tax Attorney for over 40 years for the Internal Revenue Service which took him to Kansas and then to Texas in 1979 where he stayed after his retirement in 2010. As a young man, he enjoyed playing tennis until his health began to fail. 

He is survived by his son, Greg Patton, of Wichita, Kansas.       

He is preceded in death by his parents.
