Paul David Carson

Memorial service for Paul David Carson, 86, of Chattanooga will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, with Rev. Jim Prock, pastor at Blanchard, Oklahoma and Rev. Vivian Garza, pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, Lawton, OK officiating. 

Mr. Carson passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.  

Paul was born on May 30, 1933 at the family home in Faxon, Oklahoma to Oran and Grace (Overstreet) Carson. He grew up and graduated from Faxon High School in 1953. He farmed for himself and with his dad in Faxon. Paul David married Miss Mary Ann Geis on July 24, 1954 and they made Faxon their first home, later moving to Chattanooga where they lived for the next 60 years. While continuing to farm, he also worked for civil service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma from 1966 until 1988. He then retired from farming in May of 2019. He enjoyed fourwheeling and tinkering with his tractors. Paul David was a regular at the Hop and Sac in Chattanooga for morning coffee with the guys. He was a talented musician who played the organ, piano, and harmonica, all by ear. He was previously the organist at Cameron Church of God and was currently the pianist at his home church, First Baptist Church of Chattanooga where he also served as Deacon. His greatest love was Jesus, and he wanted everyone to know Him. He will be missed by all who knew him.     

Hs is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Carson, of the home; two daughters and sons in law, Tricia and Marvin Wyatt, of Lawton, OK and Charlotte and Jim Eastup, of Granbury, TX; his son and daughter in law, Rocky and Lisa Carson, of Lawton, OK; his brother and sister in law, Maurice and Charlene Carson, of Friendswood, TX; two sisters and brothers in law, Rosemary and Danny Wiley, of Oklahoma City, OK and Diana and Roger Potts, of Yukon, OK; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Adam and Sara Wyatt, Amber and Jason VanHoozer, Andi Grace and Michael Haddad, Brandie and Robert Gillette, Brigette and Chris Thoma, Jessica and Matthew Dorchak, Clay and Sydney Carson, and Colton Carson; 16 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jaycee, Mia, Hadley, Kira, George, Natali, Elexa, Paxton, Kian, Kyler, Payton, Bryleigh, Crew, Finn, and Beau. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janie Lewis; and his son in law, Bob Mathews.
