Robert "Bob" C. Hoyt

Robert "Bob" C. Hoyt passed away Saturday, October 12th, 2019 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  

Graveside services will be held  at Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma on Wednesday October 16th at 1:00 pm under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Bob was born in Boston, Massachusetts on December 15, 1948, and married Diane Hoffer in 1971 in Schenectady, New York.  They lived in the Schenectady area until 1983 when they moved with their children to Elgin, Oklahoma.  Bob worked for the city of Lawton for 25 years until he retired in 2008.  

He served his county in the Army from 1968 to 1971 with one combat tour to the Republic of Vietnam.  Bob was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal with 60 device, two overseas bars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, and the National Defense Service Medal.  

He is survived by son Terry Hoyt and wife Tacie of Port Arthur Texas; daughter Bobbie Yoder and husband Jeremy of Elgin; five grandchildren Robert, Dakota, and Bryce of Bay St. Louis Mississippi; Ariel and Ethan of Elgin; two sisters, and a brother in law, a sister in law, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, a granddaughter, Tabitha Hoyt, and obe brother Leon Hoyt.
