Amy Rose Colyer, 107, of Burkburnett, Texas, formerly of Grandfield, OK, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in Burkburnett.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Kent Kinzer officiating.
Services are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, OK.
Mrs. Colyer was born April 18, 1911, in Grandfield, to Dan and Ora (Vosburgh) Sutherland. She attended Grandfield Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1931. She attended Southwestern State College at Weatherford. She was employed at Tomplinson Five an Dime, then at Southwestern Telephone. On October 22, 1938 she married William Ray Colyer in Grandfield, OK. He passed away November 30, 1971. She was a devoted housewife for 21 years. At that time she begin working for various Gins as a bookkeeper for 38 years.
She was a aerobic instructor for Grandfield Senior Citizens for 20 years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Grandfield, where she taught Sunday School.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Colyer and his wife La Nelle of Grandfield; two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Colyer of Burkburnett, TX and Vicky Colyer of Grandfield; 11grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray and two sons Kenneth Ray and Doyle and three brothers, Forest, L.D. and Carl Sutherland.
