Funeral service for Amy Marie Taylor, 86, of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Rose, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Taylor passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in Lawton.
Amy was born on February 27, 1931 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Leo Clyde and Marie (Lanotte) Green. She grew up in Wichita Falls before moving to Addington, Oklahoma where she graduated from Addington High School. She then attended Cameron College and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. She married William Taylor on January 24, 1954 in Waurika,Oklahoma. They moved to Japan and later to Fort Polk, Louisiana, Lawton, Oklahoma, Germany, Tacoma, Washington, El Paso, Texas, and then returned to Lawton and later another tour to Germany and finally home to Lawton where they retired. Amy was a homemaker and was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and family gathering.
She is survived by her husband, William, of the home; her son and daughter in law, Eddie and Angel Taylor, of Lawton, Ok; three daughters and sons in law, Amy and Joe English, Linda and Steve DelCiello and Helen and Frank Sales, all of Lawton, OK; two brothers and a sister in law, Francis Green, of Vicksburg, MS and Wayne and Jackie Green, of Spokan, WA; 12 grandchildren, and spouses, Catherine and John Nivens, Denver, CO, Heather Taylor of Diamondhead, MS, Charles Taylor, Duncan, OK, Billy Balmas, Lawton, OK, Chad McConnell, Lawton, OK, Nick and Candice McConnell, Lawton, OK, Alexis and Anthony Croff, Greenville, TX, Ashley DelCiello, Indianapolis, IN, Alicia and Aaron Horn, Lawton, OK, Franklin and Morgan Sales, Lawton, Alex Sales, Lawton, OK, and Eric Sales, Lawton, OK; her great grandchildren, Felicity McConnell, Kyle McConnell, Charlotte Horn, Isabelle Horn, Luli Nivens, and Katie Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cynthia Balmas; and three brothers, John Green, Clyde Green, and Thomas Green.
