Funeral service for Anna Vonteen "Bonnie" Nichols, 82, of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Marsh, pastor of Carriage Hills Christian Church officiating.
Mrs. Nichols passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
Entombment will be at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bonnie was born on August 7, 1936 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Noel William and Anna Bell (Simpson) Davidson. After high school, she attended Cameron College. Bonnie married Robert Thomas Nichols on May 15, 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas and they lived for a while in Washington DC before moving to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1970. Robert passed away on February 12, 1990. She drove a bus for Lawton Public Schools for over 25 years. Bonnie was a foster parent for over 30 years, raising many children. She also enjoyed reading and sewing. She was a member of the Carriage Hills Christian Church.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Dean Younts and special friend, Cathy Proue, of Duncan, OK; her daughters and their spouses, Anna Marie and Frank Vosburgh of Duncan, OK, Alea "Lisa" and Dusty Mason, of Lawton, OK, Peggy Sue and Chet Chase, of Lawton, OK, Kathryn Ann Nichols, of Lawton, OK, and Sandy and Doug Lasley, of Lawton, OK; 13 grandchildren, Jacki, Harley, Candice, Chris, Stacey, Alishia, Cheyenne, Dalton, Cody, Kendall, Jessica, Julie, and Ray; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Thomas Nichols; her sons, Johnny Ray Davidson and Bobby Charles Younts; her twin step daughters, Liz and Lou; and her brothers, Melvin Leon Davidson and Noel Davidson.
