Annemarie Bloom

Funeral mass for Annemarie Bloom, 76 of Lawton will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, pastor officiating. 

Burial will be at Post Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Annemarie passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019 in Lawton. 

Annemarie was born on January 4, 1943 in Eibenberg, Germany to Ernst and Betty Bauerfeind where she grew up. She was the youngest of three children. In 1946, the family was forced to leave their home in the wake of World War II. They found their new home in Ebrach-Eberau, Germany, where she attended school. She graduated in April of 1957. After graduating, she began an apprenticeship to work as a tailor, finishing her training on July 15, 1960. She worked as a tailor in Germany until August of 1978 when she came to the United States where she married Walter Bloom. Her first job was at Western Uniform & Towel, and later she worked as a sales associate at Dillard's. In June of 2002, her husband Walter passed away. In December of 2005 she was approved to be a foster mother, and took care of many children. Annemarie was a very active person. She liked to dance, play poker, be outdoors, and spend time with her beloved dog, Lumpi. She also enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises with her good friends. Annemarie was very generous, and helped anyone out whenever they needed it.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Klaus and Thomas Bauerfeind, Vera Meisel, Heinz Bartosch, and Angelika Imgrund; her sister in law, Regina Bauerfeind; her great niece, Carina Meisel; and her great nephew, Dan Meisel; and her loving companion Kent Hewes, who passed away on December 13, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her sister and brother in law, Sylvia and Dietmar Bartosch; her brother, Ernst Bauerfeind.
