Funeral service for Annie "Nell" Sherrill, 89, of Lawton will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at First Christian Church with Rev. Brandon Johnson officiating. 

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Sherrill passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Lawton. 

Nell was born on June 29, 1929  in Waynesboro, Mississippi to Sam T. and Lily May Tiner. She grew up in Waynesboro where she attended school, graduating from Beat Four High School in 1947. She worked for a bank and bakery and later worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company. She met Benny J. Sherrill and they married on May 15, 1954 in Jackson, Mississippi. They came to Oklahoma in 1960, living in Burns Flat and later in Del City before coming to Lawton in 1968 when Mr. Sherrill retired from the United States Air Force. Nell was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She loved bowling and over a 30 year span she was on several bowling leagues in Lawton. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.  

She is survived by three daughters, Lynell Shadid and husband, Kyle, of Broken Arrow, OK, Sheila  Rulison and husband, Ron, of Flint, TX; and Teresa Sherrill and partner, Jamie Hennessee, of Lawton, OK;  two brothers and a sister in law, George and Jamesye Tiner, of Jackson, MS and Lenwood Tiner, of Waynesboro, MS; three grandsons and wives, Brian and Elyssa Rulison, Blake Rulison and Leigh Hackbert, and Benjamin Sherrill and fiance, Sunny Sheppard;  numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny who passed away on January 20, 2013; her sister, Lela Wright; and four brothers, S.T. Tiner, Howard Tiner, Charles Tiner, and Ralph Tiner.
