Barbara Jane (Strelow) Scott

September 10, 1944 ~ July 7, 2018 (age 73)

Memorial service for Barbara Scott, 73 of Indiahoma, OK will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Rev. Nathan Mills will officiate the service.

Mrs. Scott passed away on Saturday July 7, 2018 in Indiahoma, OK.

Barbara was born on September 10, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI to Lawrence and Marie Strelow.  She attended school in West Allis, WI and graduated from High School in 1964. Barbara worked as a volunteer host at the USO in Milwaukee, WI.  While volunteering she was set up on a blind date. On Sweetest day 1965 she went on that date. On Thanksgiving Day 1965 she became engaged.  On June 18, 1966, Barbara married her sweetheart and together she and her husband Johnie shared fifty two years of marriage.  She worked for many years in manufacturing for Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley. After retiring in 2002, she and Johnie moved to Indiahoma, OK. Barbara enjoyed people watching, doing 5k’s with her daughters, eating seafood, anything Disney and watching movies. She was an animal lover and doted on fur babies.

She is survived by her husband, Johnie of the home.  Her daughters: Ella Scott and her partner, Julie Hesprich of Indiahoma, OK; Judy Redel and her husband, Danny of West Allis, WI and DeAnna Scott of Indiahoma, OK.  Her brother: Gilbert Strelow and his wife, Arlene of West Allis, WI.  Her Grandchildren: Christa, John, and Allison Redel, all of West Allis, WI. Her fur babies: Boomer, Bella, Larry, Chip, Keystone, Cowboy, Wrigley, Katie, Bubba, Missy and Prissy. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Junior Strelow and her sisters: Margie Anderson, Rosie Zekich and Kathy Meeks.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Aspire Home Health and Hospice for their care.
