Funeral service for Ben Christian, 23 of Lawton will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, pastor of Cameron Baptist Church officiating.
Ben passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ben was born on August 18, 1991 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Moises and Dorothy (Fenton) Christian. He grew up in Lawton and was a member of Cameron Baptist Church. Growing up in the church, he was part of the drama team and took a mission trip to Mexico. He worked maintenance at various apartment complexes and later was a contract worker at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. At the time of his death, he worked in the tire department at Sam's Wholesale. Ben was a singer/songwriter who "Painted Pictures with his Words." His music can be heard on SoundCloud at BenBreakEm. He won the Best Collaborator Award with Ray Ray Jones at K-JMZ Radio Station for the song "Thinking of You." He was an artist and enjoyed sketching. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Mahkaylah, who he loved and adored more than life itself. He had a contagious smile that could brighten any room.
He is survived by his parents, Moises and Dottie Christian, of the home; his daughter, Mahkaylah Faith Christian, of Lawton; his brothers and sisters in law, Jason and Tricia Christian, of Akron, OH, Stephen and Danielle Christian, of Laranger, LA, Michael and Summer Christian, Matthew Christian, and David Christian, all of Lawton; his sisters, Emily Christian and Sarah Christian, both of Lawton and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Maleah Nichole Christian and Melody Rose Christian; his brothers, Jeromy Christian and Nathan Christian; and his grandparents, Felicita and Armando Christian and Joann Mello and Bryant Fenton.
