Benjiman "Bennie" Allison

Funeral service for Bennie Allison, 87 of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Sullivan Village Church of Christ with Monte Merritt officiating.

Mr. Allison passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 in Lawton.

Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Bennie was born on November 24, 1931, in Lawton to Frank and Avice (Carmichael) Allison. He grew up in SE of Lawton where he attended Flower Mound School and Lawton High School. Bennie was very mechanically inclined and built his first car when he was just 14 years old from old scrap parts he found. After graduating high school in 1950, Bennie served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He attended special schooling and became a Crew Chief Helicopter Mechanic. After his service, he owned and operated a backhoe and did custom dirt work including his many years at  Flower Mound Cemetery. He also farmed for most of his life, a passion he loved. Bennie married Miss Betty Goodin on March 30, 1959 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mrs. Allison passed away on March 16, 2003. He was a member of the Sullivan Village Church of Christ. 

He is survived by his son, Greg Allison, of Lawton, OK; his daughter and son in law, Cindy and Bruce Meek of Owasso, OK; his sister, Joyce Gentry, of Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons and their wives, Justin and Chelsea Meek and Brandon and Deanna Meek, all of Broken Arrow, OK; and his great grandchildren, Makenna and Lucas Meek.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his brother and sister in law, Wilbur and Odie Allison; and his brother in law, Bill Gentry.
