Betty Jean (Skidmore) Giles

Betty was born on November 12, 1924 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Fort Worth, TX until shortly after her mother’s untimely death. She then lived in TX and OK with aunts and uncles, before settling in Lawton, OK. Betty attended and graduated from Lawton High School in May of 1942. On July 13, 1942 she married Woody Giles. They shared fifty eight years of marriage and were the proud parents of two children. In addition to being a loving and doting Mother; she worked as a dairy products inspector for many years. She was a devote Christian and faithfully served her church by singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. For twenty five years she worked at Comanche County Memorial Hospital as a volunteer. In her leisure time she enjoyed traveling and playing bridge.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Giles of Lawton, OK. Her daughter, Victoria Giles of Lawrence, KS. Her grandchildren, Summer Giles of Lawrence, KS and Shaun Giles of Lawton, OK, five Great Grandchildren and special family friend, Lisa Michaud

She is preceded in death by her husband, Woody Giles and her Mother.
