Memorial service for Betty Jane McGuire, 98 of Lawton will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at First Baptist East with Rev. Doug Passmore, pastor oficiating.
Ms. McGuire passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 in Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Betty was born on March 3, 1920 in Ashland, Illinois to Fred John and Lourene Walter. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois where she graduated high school. She lived in Nebraska, before returning to Peoria and later lived in Iowa and Louisiana. She worked for City Service Oil Company and they transferred her to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and later to Tulsa where she retired after over 30 years of dedicated service. In 2009, Betty moved to Lawton to be near her family. She was a member of the First Baptist East and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Betty adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great grandchild.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter in law, Jim and Elaine McGuire, of Lawton, OK and Jerry McGuire, of Chicago, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Angela McGuire-Bonic, and husband, Chad, Dave McGuire, Patty McGuire-Roman, and husband, Marco, Dan McGuire, Elizabeth Brassfield, and husband, Karl, Christopher McGuire, and wife, Jayln, and Kevin McGuire; 15 grandchildren, Natalie Calmes, and husband, Chris, Melanie Brassfield, Emily Brassfield, Isaac Brassfield, Nora Nigia, Lauren McGuire, Grant McGuire, Holly McGuire, Cori Vonik, Ellie Vonik, Raycelin McGuire, Kaitlyn Roman, Madison Roman, Marco Roman, and Maxine McGuire; and one great great grandchild, Ivan Ligia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, L Eugene McGuire.
