Billy Gene Curtis

Memorial service for Billy Gene Curtis, 83 of Geronimo will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wes Kinder officiating.

Mr. Curtis passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Lawton.

Curtis was born on November 25, 1935 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Robert and Gladys (Goss) Curtis. Billy met the love of his life Barbara Joan Adams and they married on September 12, 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas and to that union their daughter, Debbie Curtis, was born on June 14, 1960. Billy was an avid rancher and loved to coon hunt and fish. He would take his daughter coon hunting and carry her up on his shoulders before she was old enough to walk. He also coon hunted with the late John Cason (a movie star). They had lots of loving friends and customers when they owned and operated B & J Quick Mart in Comanche, Oklahoma. Joan passed away on November 28, 2013.   

Billy is survived by his daughter and son in law, Debbie and David Herriman, of Geronimo, OK; his granddaughter and her husband, Cassie and Brandon Hay, of Wichita Falls, TX; great grandchildren, Trevor Janz, of Cyril, OK and Jacobi Janz, of Wichita Falls, TX; his sisters and brothers in law, Joyce and JR Bewley, of Springfield, MO, Ina Lawson, of Comanche, OK, and Glenda Baker, of Duncan, OK; and his brothers and sister in law, Johnny and Rita Curtis, of Comanche, OK and Bobby Curtis, of Duncan, OK. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan Curtis; and his sisters, Reba Curtis and Deloris Curtis. 

He was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.
