Bobby Deral Shackelford

Word has been received of the passing of Bobby Deral Shackelford, 89, of Duncan, Oklahoma. 

Mr. Shackelford passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in Duncan, OK. 

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Shackelford will be laid to rest with his wife of 70 years, Barbara Shackelford at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Bobby was born on September 18, 1933 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Lonnie Edward and Florence Shackelford. He grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma and later in Lawton, OK. He served his country in the United States Army and later he worked as a roofer. He married Barbara Harrison on December 13, 1952 in Lawton, Oklahoma and they lived in the Lawton/ Duncan area. Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor and was a sweet and gentle man who will be missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his son, Bobby Shackelford, Jr, of Okemah, Oklahoma; his brother, Jim Shackelford; his sister, Carol Shackelford; his  brother in law, Teddy Harrison; and his friends and caregivers, Linda Rippetoe and Raymond Tucker; and many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and freinds. 
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Edward and Florence Shackelford; his step mother, Mary Hindmarsh; his beloved wife, Barbara; and his sister, Marilyn Jo.
