Funeral Service for Bobby Gene "Bob" Lee, 83, Hobart will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend John Webb of the Cache Christian Church will officiate

Interment will follow the service at the Cache Cemetery

A special visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the funeral home. 

Bobby Gene (Bob) was born August 5, 1934 at the family home in Cache, Oklahoma to Clarence M. and Etta Mae (Wimple) Lee and passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Cache, Oklahoma.

Bob attended all twelve years of school in Cache graduating with the class of 1952. Following graduation he enrolled at Cameron University in Lawton and completed one year before accepting a nine month temporary position in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge while his brother Joe Bill was serving military duty in Japan. He enrolled in the fall at Northwestern State University, Alva, Oklahoma to complete his degree and graduated in the spring of 1957.

Immediately following graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army. Upon completion of basic training he was sent to Germany for an 18 month assignment. He was honorably discharged in 1959 and returned to Cache. 

He taught school at Mutual, Oklahoma for one year. He returned to Cache and was employed by a fence company until he accepted a position as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Agency in San Antonio, Texas. The control center there was later combined with the Louisiana Center in Houston, Texas. He spent four years there before transferring to the flight service station in Hobart, Oklahoma in 1969. He retired with 25 years of federal civil service and remained in Hobart until his death.

Bob married Retha O'Pry in January 30, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Burkburnett, Texas. They had two children, Susan and Robert. His pride and joy was his family and he supported his children in every activity in which they participated during their childhood. He also attended many sporting events when his nieces and nephews were involved.

He is survived by his wife Retha of 55 years of the home, his children Susan Lee and Robert Lee and Lisa of Cache; a brother, Clarence and MaryAnn Lee, Edmond, OK; a sister, Ina Mae Turner, Edmond, OK; a special sister in law, Coweta Lee, Cache, OK; nieces, Charla, Karen, Pam, and Anna; and nephews, Joe, Craig, Steven, and Kendall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mae Lee; his brother, Joe Bill; and brother in law, Gil Turner
