Carolyn Ruth Pingry

Graveside service for Carolyn Ruth Pingry, 76, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. 

Mrs. Pingry passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 in Lawton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born on November 27, 1940 in Lawton, Oklahoma to James Clarence and Ruth (Chapman) Thomas. She grew up in Lawton where she attended school, graduating from Lawton High School. She then began her career with civil service at Fort Sill, working first at the print plant for 30 years and later moved to finance and accounting with DFAS, retiring with over 40 years of service. Carolyn married Lawrence Leon Pingry on December 31, 1985 in Wichita Falls, Texas. 

She is survived by her husband, Leon, of the home; her stepdaughter and son in law, Linda and Steve Semmel, of Woodward, Oklahoma; her step son and daughter in law, Lawrence "Larry" Leon Pingry, Jr. and Angie of Woodward, Oklahoma; her sister in law, Terri Thomas; her grandchildren and their spouses, Lindsey Summeral, Alysha and Matt McDonald, Phillip and Becky Castor, Blane and Celia Pingry, Shane and Morgan Pingry,  Bryce and Jessie Pingry, and Mikayla Warren; 16 great grandchildren, and one great grandson on the way; a special friend, June Moss, of Lawton; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jim Thomas.
