Charles Wade (Charlie), 81, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed peacefully on May 22, 2022 at 1.05 am due to health complications.
Charlie was born on August 29th, 1940 at home in Acme, Texas to Luther and Ethel Wade. His parents raised him in Quanah, Texas where he grew up, enjoying his family and friends, going fishing, and playing football. Charlie resided in Quanah to raise his family until 1968 when his job caused him to move to Lawton, Oklahoma., where he lived a full satisfying life where he worked, coached Boxing, and other sports.
Charlie leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and wonderful sense of humor. He was beloved by everyone who ever met him. He was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a best friend to all walks of life.
Charlie’s professions led him to meet and become friends with a great number of people. He was a conversation starter, quickly making any person feel at ease, like he had known them for years. He retired as a Insurance salesman for American General Life Insurance. After retirement he couldn't stand being at home idle so he became a sales clerk at Gibson’s until it closed. After that Charlie begin working as a shuttle driver for Comanche Nation Casino, where he worked until he passed to the other side.
Charlie was not only a good conversationalist, but he had a heart of gold. He was a caring man, who went out of his way to make others feel special, to make them happy or feel more confident in themselves. With his positive outlook, generous spirits, and kind heart he left an impression wherever he went. He never met a stranger that didn’t quickly become a friend. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Charlie was definitely a “one of a kind” type of person. Charlie will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who was fortunate to know him.
Charlie is survived by his brother, Johnny Wade of Quanah, Texas, his children Donna Schlegel, Wayne Wade, Tammy McClure, Tanya Reid, Robert Keller, Edward Keller, Bobbie Penberth, Melinda Keller, and their spouses/significant others, grandchildren, Christina Gray, Jennifer Cargil, Michael Cocke, Jessica Pendergraph, Dylan McClure, Jonathan Schlegel, Robert Keller, Victoria Wilson, Sheldon Keller, Niya Swanson, Samantha Keller, Chiristopher Keller, Wesley Keller, Errin Keller, Charlie Elliott, Tommy Burnett, Joseph Keller, Adora Smith and their spouses/significant others, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
