Funeral service for Charlotte Ann Benefield, 62, of Lawton will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel at 632 SW "C" Ave., Lawton, Oklahoma. 
Mrs. Benefield passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 surrounded by family and loved ones at Comanche County Memorial Hospital following a brave battle with cancer.  
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, Oklahoma.  
There will be a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 
Charlotte was born on January 20, 1956 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Roye and Mereta Opal (Skipworth) Clark.  She was the middle child of three children.  She married the love of her life, Larry Wayne Benefield on August 23, 1974 right out of high school at the young age of 18 at the Trinity Baptist Church on Gore Blvd back when it was a two lane road. Charlotte worked in high school at both Arlington Manor Nursing Home and Kmart until she became a mother to her only son, Michael Wayne Benefield who was born December 31, 1975.  She was a happy homemaker and housewife for much of her marriage until she reentered the workforce in 2005 for Lawton Public Schools as a teacher’s aide.  She loved working and socializing with other people, and she loved her students. She cooked dinner most every night always keeping a warm plate if Larry or Michael were late for family dinner. The two most important things to Charlotte was her love for her family and her special needs students. 
She is preceded in death by her parents; her father in law and mother in law, SFC Bobby L Benefield, and Gladys E. Benefield, who she lovingly referred to as GiGi.   
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Benefield, of the home; her son,  Michael Wayne, (Edwina) of Lawton, two wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Cory Vaughan and Cody  and Kyndra West; her great grandchildren, Annabel B West and Wyatt Vaughan; her sister, Betty Martinez-Cade; her brother and sister in law, Terry  and Carolyn Clark; her brother in law and sister in law, David and Cindy Benefield; three sisters in law and a brother in law, Jeri Anderson, Linda and Pat Pandolph, and Denise Rooney; her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Jason and Gia Sullivan Brandy Martinez, Brooke Martinez-DuBose, Tanner D. Clark, Natilee Benefield,  April  and James Miller, Whitney  and Tim Heinz, Tyler and Tracee Chouinard, Chase and Jessica Cook, Emily Cook, Christie and Kaleb Johnson, Amanda and Chris Olsen, Jeff and Krystal Edgmon, Aaron Rooney, Taylor Rooney, Shane Rooney and McKenzie and Chad Pugh. 
Charlotte was also blessed with many  great nieces and nephews: Dylan Sullivan, Kendall Sullivan, Maleena Sullivan,Gracelyn Sullivan, Jason Sullivan, Justine Casillas, Caitlynn Sullivan, Gavin Sullivan, Vallen Sullivan, Roye Pendergraph-Martinez, Ileahna Wixey, Branden Jones, Monique DuBose, Adrianna DuBose, Michelle Vaughan and her husband Cory, Cody West and Kyndra Mason, Vincent, Peyton and Nya Miller, Macie, Kynlee and Mylee Edgmon, McKayla, Lucas, and McKenna Heinz, Tristan Chouinard, Caitlyn and Corleigh Pandolph, Chandler and Aubreigh Johnson, Ainsleigh  and Adelyn Olsen, and Baylor and Bristol Pugh; and great great nieces and nephews, Evyn  Sullivan, Kendon Sullivan,  Kenai Sullivan.
