Chin "Katy" Tzu Franco

Funeral service for Chin "Katy" Tzu Franco, 76 of Lawton will be at  9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Quinnett, of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiating. 

Mrs. Franco passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.

Viewing and visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the funeral home.  

Chin was born on February 16, 1943 in Taichung, Taiwan. She grew up in Taichung. She met Juan Franco in Taipei, and they married in Taiwan. They came to the United States; going first to Hughes, Arkansas and then Germany, Fort Lee, Virginia and Fort Sill, Oklahoma, returning to Germany and then to Lawton in 1977. Mr. Franco retired from the military in 1979 and they remained in Lawton. Katy owned her own housekeeping business and later worked for the Fort Sill Commissary. She enjoyed going to her sons soccer games when he was a child, and she enjoyed helping the VFW with cooking. She liked to crochet, fish and enjoyed gardening. She made many pecan pies with pecans she picked and shelled herself.    

She is survived by her son, Tobias Franco, of Lawton; her daughter and son in law, Judy Franco and Darin Stavinoha, of Lawton, OK; and three grandchildren, Hayden Franco, Jase Stavinoha, and Kat Stavinoha. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hung; her husband, Juan Franco; her son; and three brothers.
