Clara (Becky) Rebecca Dowdy

Clara Rebecca (Becky) Booher Dowdy departed this life Thursday, July 29, 2021. 

Becky was born October 25, 1949, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Floyd Clarence and Lesta Helen Pickens Booher.  She graduated from Big Pasture High School in 1967.  She married Thomas Dowdy on January 28, 1968.  From this union, two sons were born, Christopher Neal and Casey Lee. 

She is survived by her husband Thomas Dowdy, her two sons, Christopher Neal Dowdy and Casey Lee Dowdy. Her two sisters Betty Rupe and husband Kenneth, Helen Wood, and two brothers, James (Jimbo) Booher, Frank Booher and wife Laura.  One brother-in-law Ed Dowdy and wife Rhonda.  Daughter-in-law Lindsey Dowdy. Granddaughters Tori, Lexi, Caroline and Georgia Dowdy. Her nieces and nephews, Jeff Rupe and wife Brenda, Mark Rupe and wife Fe, Lisa Galka, Mary Billings, Connie Key and husband Kenneth, Tommy Wayne Fox, Cody Booher and Courtney Weske, Ryan Booher and wife Ali, and Dana Beth Banks and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws Eugene and Dora Dowdy.  Her brothers, Dan “Hoss” and Tom Booher. 

Becky was employed by GTE and later Verizon for 30 years serving in numerous areas and later becoming telecommunications manager.  She was active in ABWA, serving various positions and later as President and was named Woman of the Year in 1986.
