Funeral service for Danny Ray Chacon, 53, of Gracemont, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Cache High School Auditorium with John Webb, pastor of Cache Christian Church officiating. 

Mr. Chacon passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

Burial will be at Cache Cemetery, Cache Oklahoma under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. 

Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Danny Ray was born on June 29, 1968 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Danny Chacon and Glenda (Seay) Durant. He grew up in Cache where he attended school. Graduating in 1987 While in high school, he played tuba, and baritone and all brass instruments in the Cache band. Receiving numerous awards he was selected to play tuba in the All Star Marching Band in Tulsa 1985. He was selected to tour Europe for three weeks playing in the American Musical Ambassadore European Tour Band. While in Holland, he visited a host family. Danny Ray became friends with their son, Marco Van Dekreek, and Marco came to the United States to visit Danny Ray. He arranged the music for the Cache band to play Flintstones at the Cameron competition. The judges gave the band a superior rating and a standing ovation. In 1986 Danny Ray was in the Who's Who in Music Scobda, All-Honor Band, First Chair Swobda, All Reg, Band, Concert, Band, Jazz Band, Tuba and Trombone, and Tuba Solo. After graduating from Cache High School in 1987, he attended Cameron University, majoring in music. While at Cameron he played in the jazz and concert band. He then worked for Apac Road Construction for many years as a heavy equipment operator, the Geo Group, and later worked for LuGreg Trucking. At the time of his passing, Danny Ray worked as a truck driver for Mulholland Energy Services. He married Jenetta Walker on March 18, 1995 in Cache, Oklahoma. Danny Ray began racing bicycles and later was a racecar driver, starting out in the Mini Stock Division with a Pinto he got from his aunt that she had wrecked when a buffalo rolled over it and then moved to the Limited Modified and later drove Sprint Car # 57 at the Lawton Speedway, Faxon Speedway, and Altus Speedway. He won the Track Championship in Altus in 1989. This year he was in the top 10 at Lawton. He enjoyed life and his family and will be missed by all who knew him.   

He is survived by his wife, Jenetta Chacon, of the home; his mother and stepfather, Glenda and Preston Durant, of Cache, OK; his father, Danny Chacon, of Pueblo, Colorado; his son, Jonny Chacon and wife, Cheyenne, of Lawton, OK; two daughters, Heather Chacon, of Chickasha and Kaitlyn Chacon, of Cache, OK; his brothers and sisters in law, Michael and Becky Chacon, of Cache, OK, and Donnie and Susie Matlock, of Anadarko, OK; his beloved grandchildren, Danah Chacon, Danielle Chacon, Anissa Chacon, Justin Chacon, and Aiden Chacon; his mother in law, Arvilla Manuel, of Chickasha; his brother in law, George Walker, many aunts and uncles including Renee and John Webb, and Retha and Dan Romine; numerous cousins including Jimmy Ray Curtsinger, Amanda Berg and her husband, Michael, Joshua Webb and his wife, Sara, and Mark Webb; his nieces, Kylee Dressler and her husband, Tyler, and Brenda Chacon;  his racing buddies, Craig Holden, Duane Baker, Matthew Reimer, Jerry Bruner, and TJ Harrell, along with many others, and his special friends, Dayne Davis, K9 partner, and Brandon Jones from Geo Group; his best friend, Robert Heaton, from Apac; and many other loving relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Ruth Seay and Ben and Della Chacon; his aunt, Brenda Curtsinger; and his father in law, James Walker.
