David Baxter Asbery

Memorial Service for David Baxter Asbery 76 of Burkburnett, Texas will be at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday June 3, 2017 at Gray Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Morgan officiating.  

David went to his heavenly home on Wednesday May 31, 2017 

David was born on November 17th, 1940, in Grandfield , OK to Samuel Jack  and  Lona ( Dykes ) Asbery.  He grew up in Grandfield, and graduated from Grandfield High School in 1960.  David married the love of his life Jerry (Greeenway) Asbery on June 18, 1961, in Grandfield, OK, they lived happily together until her passing on December 4, 2011.    He was always the life of the party, he would often host cookouts around the fire pit  for anyone who wanted to attend.  David had an adventurers spirit, and always enjoyed taking back roads and see every bit of the countryside.  He loved spending time with his family, teaching them how to fish and shoot.  David was truly loved and will be deeply missed. 

David is survived by his: daughter, Lori Moore and husband Shannon of Burkburnett, Texas; sons, Gerald Winton and wife Jennifer of Ocala, Florida, and Jeff Asbery of Burkburnett, Texas; sister, Jaquita Freeney of Palmdale, California; eight grandchildren, Paige, Tyson, Chelsea, Justin, Matthew, Connor, Alyssa, and Samantha; five great grandchildren, Sha'Nyah, Glenn, Jaxxon, Jace, and Jayden; and a host of friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Jack Asbery and Lona( Dykes)  Peterson; stepfather, Sam Peterson;  beloved wife, Jerry; and one son, Gerald .
