David Correa 98, formerly of Grandfield, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2017, at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Grandfield, with Pastor Victor Sullivan of the Lamb of God Church, Fort Worth, Texas officiating.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a special viewing and visitation for family and friends on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Devol Cemetery, Devol, Oklahoma, under the direction of Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield, OK.
Mr. Correa was born March 1, 1919, in Columbia, Texas, to Severo and Maria (Medina) Correa. His family lived in Mexico for awhile and later moved to Del Rio, Texas. He married Tranquilina Yanez on June 10, 1939, in Jimenez, Mexico. They moved to Grandfield, in November, 1998. Mrs. Correa preceded him in death on August 5, 2005. Mr. Correa working in Landscaping and also worked as a ranch hand. He loved to play baseball and watch baseball.
Survivors include three sons, Mario Correa, of Del Rio, Texas, Thomas of Worland, Wyoming, and David Correa, II, of Grandfield, OK; five daughters, Maria Calamaco, of Fort Worth, TX, Julia Calvillo, of Fort Worth, TX, Blanca Huertas, of Pennsylvania, Juana Correa, of Grandfield, OK, and Beatrice Cordova, of Grandfield, OK; his brother, Macario Correa; his sister, Rufina Castaneda; Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Anita Fabela; his son, Leopoldo Correa; and his brother, Pedro Correa.
