David Michael Shifflett

David Michael Shifflett, age 69, of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday June 5, 2023 at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Eglin, OK with Kevin Slough officiating.  

David was born May 14, 1954 in Amherst, MA to George and Eugenia Shifflett. He married the love of his life, Cindy Shifflett on October 2, 1987 at Camp Washington in Washington State. 

David joined the United States Army and proudly served his country for 17 years in uniform.  He continued to serve his nation as a contractor in Defense Security for Northrup Grumman for 27 years.  He had a Master’s degree and was a distinguished professional in his field of engineering. David will be remembered as a humorist, family beacon, and role model to others.  David was a proud patriot that loved his country, he was a protector of all and someone who served others his whole life.  David was a hero as well as an honored veteran and icon.  David will be remembered by all, for his integrity and his "get up and go" attitude.  He could always be found with a dog by his side.  He was a mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge on Lincoln Ave. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

David is survived by his wife Cindy of the home; His son, Dean Shifflett; his adopted daughter, Tammy Shifflett; his daughters in law, Christina and Tiffany; his sister, Nancy; his brother, Mark; his seven grandchildren: Katlyn, Emily, Noah, Victory, Peyton, and Wyatt; his great grandson, Mathew.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Michael and his beloved son, William.
